My name is Cecilia Andersson. I grew up in a tiny village, not far from the small town Vimmerby, in the small country of Sweden. Have you heard of Pippi Longstocking? Astrid Lindgren, the author grew up here and many of her stories are set in the surroundings of Vimmerby. Now I live in Höör another small town in Sweden.
I grew up with the forest surrounding and most of my inspiration I get from there. My desire is never to copy nature, it stands for it self. My desire is to depict it in my own “language” and celebrate it my own way. I use different techniques in my work because I like mixing different materials. I often paint with things from nature like branches, grass and leaves. Also with leftover material such as cardboard. Most of my art is abstract and minimalistic.
In my work I want to highlight the unseen and seek a balance between control and the unforeseen.
